The photograph above gives a view of the Mzimkulwana River gorge looking upstream from the road through the gorge at the Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. In the foreground, exposed rock plates of Msikaba formation sandstone can be seen. These rock plates form the habitat for the small resurrection plant Craterostigma nanum; in an article in this edition, this plant species has recently had its name reinstated, after a long period of being sunk into Craterostigma plantagineum.
